Paris is known as the city of lights La Ville-Lumière (not The City of Love, as many people have coined it) so when it comes to things to do in Paris at night you can rest assured there are plenty of romantic vistas, illuminated across the city, not to mention, other activities after dark in this magnificent capital. Here are our five favourite things to do in Paris at night; Live Jazz Paris is one of the capitals of jazz, complete with its cobbled streets, mysterious venues and an undercurrent of untouchable Parisian cool there’s no better place that to have an aperitif that listening to some live music. There are many jazz clubs across the city that everyone should try and visit at least once. From experimental jazz musicians to international artists, you can find it all. We recommend Sunside/Sunset in Châtelet, or Au Duc des Lombards just down the road, or jazz up your dinner with a show at Atelier de Charonne. Watch a Cabaret Cabaret is an after-dark institution in Paris that dates back to 1881 with the opening of Le Chat Noir in Monmartre. From then it’s become an infamous tradition. The Lido is one such place to celebrate this tradition, dating back to the early 1900s. The Louvre is open until 9.45pm every Friday, and others like the Orsay Museum and Centre Pompidou stay open until 9pm, too. It’s a really peaceful way to experience Paris’ art history and heritage.
